Madhav Nepal Rules Out Immediate Unity with UML
CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has declared that unity with the CPN (UML) in the immediate future is not feasible.
Addressing a party cadre training program organized by the Koshi Province Committee on Saturday, Chairman Nepal emphasized that socialist forces must unite to address the nation’s deepening crises and advocate for the reformation of the Socialist Front.
The former Prime Minister stressed that progressive forces need to collaborate to counteract political instability and mistrust, which have emboldened reactionary forces within the country.
Chairman Nepal revealed that his party received an offer to lead the Madhesh Province Government but chose to reject it. He explained that having separate alliances in the federal and provincial governments would be politically unethical.
He further emphasized that the country’s economic and social transformation hinges on ending all forms of discrimination.
Chairman Nepal also mentioned that the party’s line agencies and committees are diligently preparing for the upcoming General Convention. He added that discussions are ongoing to resolve political differences within the party and to strengthen the political document.
