Maj Gen Charanjeet Singh Dewgun of Indian Army Concludes Official Visit to Nepal

Maj Gen Charanjeet Singh Dewgun, YSM, Colonel of the Regiment, 3 Gorkha Rifles (GR) of the Indian Army, completed a six-day official visit to Nepal, which began on September 30, 2024. Upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, he was received by Col V Subramaniam, the Defence Attaché of India to Nepal.

During his visit, Maj Gen Dewgun traveled to Pokhara, where he honored gallantry awardees and “Veer Naris” (widows of martyrs) at an Ex-Servicemen (Exsm) rally. He also inspected various branches of the Defence Wing and ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) Polyclinics. Maj Gen Dewgun stressed the importance of extending the reach of ECHS Nepal to better serve Exsm in the country.

In Kathmandu, he met with Gen Ashok Raj Sigdel, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Nepal Army, at the Army Headquarters. The two generals discussed ways to strengthen military ties and the relationship between the Indian and Nepalese armies.

Maj Gen Dewgun concluded his visit on October 5, 2024, praising the efforts of the Defence Wing team at the Embassy of India (EoI) for their professional conduct in bolstering the bilateral ties between the two nations and their commitment to the welfare of Exsm in Nepal.
