Major Collision in Jhapa Leaves 21 Injured

In a tragic incident on Tuesday, at least 21 people were injured when a bus and a truck collided in Kamal Rural Municipality-4, Jhapa. The collision occurred on the East-West Highway, involving a truck (Ba 3 Kha 2166) traveling westward and a bus (1 Kha 5087) heading in the opposite direction.

Milan KC, Superintendent of Police and Chief of District Police Office, Jhapa, reported that among the injured, three are in critical condition. All injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at Damak Hospital and Research Center, as well as Life Line Hospital in Damak. Those critically injured have been referred to Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar for specialized medical care.

The authorities have apprehended the bus driver, Ashok Bot, 45, from Triyuga Municipality-3, Udayapur, and the truck driver, Sher Bahadur Rai, 34, from Ganeshman Municipality-5, Dhanusa, for further investigation. Police efforts are ongoing to ascertain the exact cause of the collision.
