Man Arrested for Allegedly Defrauding Rs 12.8 Million with False Legal Promises

Police have arrested Rabindra Maharjan, 45, from Bhaisepati, on charges of defrauding Rs 12.8 million by falsely promising assistance in winning a court case concerning contracts for the Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track project.
According to Superintendent Kaji Kumar Acharya, Information Officer at the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, the Kathmandu District Court issued an arrest warrant on October 22 after a complaint was filed. Following a search operation, police apprehended Maharjan in Buddhanagar at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
