Man Arrested for Allegedly Smuggling Marijuana
The police have apprehended a man on suspicion of smuggling marijuana using an ambulance. Jayadev Chel, 48, a resident of Biratnagar 12, was detained after authorities discovered a significant quantity of marijuana in the ambulance he was operating.
The arrest transpired while the ambulance, with registration number Me 1 Cha 2032, was en route from Dhankuta to Dharan. A routine inspection led to the seizure of 52 kilograms of marijuana from the vehicle.
The police had been monitoring the situation based on information hinting at the transportation of illegal substances through the ambulance.
Following Chel’s arrest by the Dhankuta Police, further investigations are underway to unravel the circumstances surrounding the alleged smuggling operation.
