Massive avalanche in Manaslu mountain , 1 Pakistani and 5 Nepali climbers injured
A massive avalanche has hit the Manaslu mountain. Initial information came that one Pakistani and five Nepali climbers have been injured in the avalanche.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Gorkha, Chitrangat Baral informed to epardafas that news of an avalanche has just been received. It has been reported that one Pakistani and five Nepali climbers are injured.
According to him, the Nepali climbers who are injured in the avalanche are Dawa Sherpa, Furita Sherpa, Ningmadorje Sherpa, Lakpa Tamang, and Jit Bahadur Sherpa. The health condition of a Pakistani mountaineer named Hafizsad Munmwar is serious.
The avalanche struck the route just below Camp IV when they were ferrying logistics to high camps.
Rescue operations are ongoing, and aerial searches by Simrik Air, Kailash Air, and Heli Everest are being conducted in the area. However, bad weather is hampering rescue efforts.
