Meeting of Top Leaders at Baluwatar: Discussing Transitional Justice and More

Leaders from three major political parties convened today at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal alongside Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, focused on several critical issues.

Sources within the Prime Minister’s Secretariat revealed that discussions primarily centered around the pending transitional justice bill in parliament. This bill, aimed at amending the Enforced Disappearances Enquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, has faced hurdles due to a lack of consensus among the major parties since its registration last March.

Among the attendees were prominent figures such as NC leaders Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Radheshyam Adhikari, former Attorney Generals Ramesh Badal and Agni Kharel, UML’s Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali, Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula, and Maoist Center’s Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma.
