Minister Kirati lauds role played by tourist police

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has appreciated the role the tourist police played despite limited resources.
Addressing a programme organized on the occasion of the 44th Tourist Police Day here Thursday, Minister Kirati said tourist police had played an important role to ensure security to the tourists though there was dearth of resources for them. “All sides concerned should work together to create an environment favourable to tourists and develop tourism,” the Minister said, adding that creation of tourism infrastructures is equally important.
On the occasion, Minister of State for Tourism, Sushila Sirpali Thakuri, viewed proper work plans and policies were required for effective service and security to tourists. All related sectors could work together for tourism promotion, development and prosperity, she added.
Similarly, Inspector General of Nepal Police, Dhiraj Pratap Singh, reminded that tourist police had contributed much to ensure tourists that Nepal is a safe place.
