Minister Paudel Calls for Success of Free Screening Campaign

Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel has urged all concerned stakeholders to ensure the success of the nationwide free screening campaign against non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

The campaign, which commenced today, aims to promote preventive measures against NCDs, which account for nearly three-fourths of all deaths in Nepal. In his message, Minister Paudel highlighted the added challenges posed by climate change and rapid urbanization in managing these diseases.

Recognizing the urgency of preventive healthcare, the Ministry has launched this initiative at the local level, engaging communities to promote health awareness, early detection, and intervention. “Our goal is to protect citizens from the vicious cycle of disease through preventive measures,” he stated.

The minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services and enhancing the quality of treatment at medical facilities across the country.
