Minister Sudi Urges Stronger Enforcement of Women’s Rights

Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Nawalkishor Saha Sudi has called for greater seriousness from the State in safeguarding women’s rights.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of a gender-responsive research and media training, Minister Sudi expressed concern over increasing violence against women in Nepal.

He emphasized the need to provide women with access to education, healthcare, and representation in government institutions.

The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to end violence and discrimination against women through collaboration with civil society.

Saptari’s Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal and Superintendent of Police Dhakendra Khatiwada also highlighted the police’s role in addressing gender-based violence in the region.
