Monsoon and Westerly Winds Impacting Weather Across Nepal
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that monsoon winds continue to affect the eastern regions of Madhes and Bagmati provinces, along with Koshi province, while westerly winds are influencing weather patterns in the western parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as parts of Madhes and Bagmati provinces.
As of this morning, the weather is partly to generally cloudy in Koshi province, with the rest of the country experiencing mostly fair conditions. Light rain is currently occurring in one or two locations within Koshi province, according to the department’s meteorological bulletin released at 6:00 a.m.
This afternoon, the forecast indicates that the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi and Madhes provinces, with light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, expected in some parts of Koshi province. Similar conditions could occur in isolated spots across other provinces.
For tonight, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with the possibility of light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning in some areas. The forecast for the next 24 hours suggests light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in parts of Koshi province and isolated spots across the rest of the country.
