Monsoon Delayed in Kathmandu Valley

Residents of the Kathmandu Valley may have to wait a little longer for the arrival of monsoon rains, according to the latest update from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari has indicated that the monsoon system is currently influencing the eastern part of the country, while local and western winds, along with a low-pressure system near Bihar, are affecting the remaining areas.

Today, there are slim chances of rain in the Kathmandu Valley, with temperatures expected to range between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius. The weather across the hilly regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Koshi provinces will be partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country can expect fair conditions.

Light rain has been reported in isolated areas of the Koshi province. This afternoon, the Bagmati and Gandaki provinces will experience partly to generally cloudy conditions, with predominantly fair weather elsewhere.

Looking ahead, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is forecasted for some parts of the hilly regions in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Tonight, the Meteorological Forecasting Division anticipates partly to generally cloudy skies in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, with partly fair conditions prevailing elsewhere.

Temperatures are expected to remain steady, with maximums ranging between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to stay updated with further weather bulletins as the monsoon progresses towards the Kathmandu Valley.
