Monsoon Winds and Low-Pressure System Impact Weather Across Nepal
The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has reported that Nepal is experiencing the effects of monsoon winds, along with a partial influence of a low-pressure system over northeastern Madhya Pradesh and southern Uttar Pradesh in India.
Currently, the weather in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces is partly to generally cloudy, while other regions of the country are experiencing partly cloudy conditions. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is expected in the hilly areas, particularly in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
There is also a possibility of windstorms in parts of the Tarai region of Lumbini province. Tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, with light to moderate rain likely in one or two areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
In the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning are expected in the hilly regions, with windstorms possible in parts of Lumbini and the Tarai region of Sudurpaschim province.
