Monsoon Winds Bring Widespread Rainfall Across Nepal
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported widespread effects of monsoon winds across Nepal, resulting in varying degrees of rainfall throughout the country. The department noted that the low-pressure line of the monsoon is positioned slightly west of its usual location and shifted northward towards the eastern part of its average position.
Today, weather conditions are expected to be partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light rain with thunder and lightning is occurring in several areas of the Koshi and Madhes provinces, while light rain is affecting one or two locations in Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Currently, rain is ongoing in the Kathmandu Valley.
Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is reported in a few areas of Madhes Province. The Department anticipates that conditions will remain generally cloudy throughout the day. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected at various places across all provinces this afternoon. Additionally, heavy rain is forecasted for one or two areas in Bagmati and Lumbini provinces.
The weather pattern is predicted to persist into the evening, with continued heavy rain expected in one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces.
