Monsoon Winds Continue to Impact Weather Across Nepal

The monsoon winds are currently affecting weather conditions across Nepal, as reported by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The low-pressure line of the monsoon is positioned south of its average location in the west and around its usual location in the east, contributing to varied weather patterns throughout the country.

Currently, Nepal is experiencing partly to generally cloudy conditions nationwide, with light rain reported in one or two places in Gandaki and Bagmati provinces. The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the day, with light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, likely in some areas.

Heavy rainfall is also anticipated at one or two locations in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. Tonight, the hilly regions will remain partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected at a few locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at one or two places in the remaining provinces.

In the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is forecasted for various parts of the country, with heavy rainfall likely in one or two locations in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

The Department has issued a warning, urging the concerned authorities to take necessary precautions to mitigate the risks of disasters such as flash floods, landslides, soil erosion, and riverbank erosion. These conditions may also partially disrupt daily life, agriculture, health services, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transport in the affected areas.
