Monsoon Winds Continue to Impact Weather Nationwide

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported ongoing monsoon activity across the country, with the monsoon’s low-pressure line positioned south of its usual location.

Currently, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country is partly cloudy. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division predicts that Sudurpaschim province will see generally to fully cloudy skies tonight, with the rest of the provinces experiencing partly to generally cloudy conditions. Light to moderate rain, along with lightning, is likely in many areas of Sudurpaschim, with occasional rainfall in other provinces.

Heavy rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds, is expected in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with isolated heavy rainfall possible in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim.

In a special bulletin issued Wednesday, the Department forecasts generally to fully cloudy weather in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces from Thursday evening through Saturday morning.
