
MoUs Worth Rs 152 Billion Signed at Koshi Province Investment Summit


The Koshi Province Government has secured investment commitments totaling Rs 152.16 billion during a two-day investment summit held on Thursday. The event, aimed at boosting economic development in the province, culminated in the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) for 46 projects across various sectors.
Dr. Saroj Koirala, Chief Executive Director of the Province Investment Authority, signed the MoUs on behalf of the government with participating investors. Of the 46 projects, eight are in agriculture, three in energy, 12 in industry, nine in infrastructure, two in information technology, 10 in tourism, and two in waste management.
Dr. Koirala noted that 19 of these projects are entirely private sector-driven, while 27 will be implemented under public-private partnership (PPP) models.
The province government had showcased 71 potential projects during the summit, with an anticipated investment target of Rs 173.49 billion. The commitments received represent a significant step toward realizing that goal.
