MP Singh Criticizes Government for Inviting Pakistani Army Delegation Amid Regional Tensions

House of Representatives member Amresh Kumar Singh has strongly criticized the government for inviting a delegation from the Pakistani Army to Nepal at what he termed an “inappropriate time.”

Raising the issue during Tuesday’s zero hour in Parliament, Singh questioned the rationale behind the visit, especially given heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. “A war-like situation exists between the two countries, and yet the Nepal government has allowed a 12-member Pakistani military delegation to visit from May 4 to 10,” he said.

Singh argued that the move reflects a lack of coherent foreign policy on the government’s part. “What message is the government trying to convey by welcoming a Pakistani army team during such a sensitive time?” he asked.

He also disclosed travel details, stating that the delegation, led by AIR CDRE Saad Mansoor Ansari, arrived on Qatar Airways flight QR646. “Is Nepal positioning itself in a way that might appear as taking sides?” he further questioned.

Singh clarified that his objection was not to the presence of Pakistani citizens in Nepal, but specifically to the timing and nature of the military visit amid regional geopolitical strains.
