NA session endorses Anti-Money Laundering Bill
A session of the National Assembly (NA) today endorsed the ‘Bill aimed to amend some acts relating to the prevention of money laundering and promotion of business environment-2080 BS’.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dhanraj Gurung, presented the Bill to the upper house session, seeking its passage. Prior to the endorsement, lawmakers Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi and Bhairav Sundar Shrestha took part in the deliberation on the Bill received along with the report of the Legislative Management Committee and the message from the House of Representatives.
Similarly, the meeting passed the ‘NA (second amendment) regulations, 2080 BS’. Suresh Kumar Alemagar proposed the meeting to endorse the regulations.
NA members Prakash Pantha, Bhuwan Bahadur Sunar, Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi, Kamala Panta, Dr Bimala Rai Poudyal, Jitendra Narayan Dev, Bhairav Sundar Shrestha, Khimlal Devkota, Bimala Ghimire and Gopi Bahadur Sarki Achhami put their views regarding the proposal.
The Monitoring, Inspection and Evaluation Report of the development and construction works as well as of the law and order in electoral constituency (province) was also presented in the Assembly meeting today.
President of the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee, Prakash Pantha, presented the ‘Study and Evaluation Report on the Status of Implementation of SDGs in Nepal, 2080’ before the Assembly.
Similarly, president of the Legislation Management Committee, Jayantidevi Rai presented a Report on the Assessment of Clause 19 of the Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act, 2075BS.
The National Assembly will next meet on March 4 at 1.17 pm.
