NAC’s Twin Otter Aircraft Resume Regular Domestic Operations

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has resumed regular operations of both its Twin Otter aircraft, restoring a crucial air service lifeline for passengers from Nepal’s remote regions.

The two aircraft, with call signs 9N-ABT and 9N-ABU, had been grounded for an extended period, causing significant inconvenience to travelers in hard-to-reach areas. According to NAC Spokesperson Subas Dangi, both planes are now fully operational following extensive maintenance and engine replacements.

“New engines have been installed, and all technical work has been carried out in accordance with regulatory standards and manufacturer guidelines,” said Dangi. He confirmed that the aircraft successfully completed required regulatory tests and officially resumed scheduled flights from May 12.

In a press release, NAC expressed confidence that the resumption of these flights will help provide affordable and accessible air travel, particularly for communities in geographically isolated regions.

Each Twin Otter is expected to operate at least four flights daily, significantly enhancing the frequency and reliability of NAC’s domestic flight services.
