Nagma-Gamgadhi Road Remains Blocked Due to Snowfall

The Nagma-Gamgadhi road, obstructed by heavy snowfall since Thursday, remains impassable.
Despite ongoing snow-clearing efforts by the Road Division Office, Jumla, using excavators, the road has yet to be reopened due to the thick accumulation of snow. Additionally, landslides and fallen electric poles in several areas have further complicated the clearing process.
Shiva Chandra Karki, a resident of Chhayanath Rara Municipality-5, reported that tourists and vehicles heading towards Rara have been stranded on the Jia-Bulbule section of the Karnali Highway.
The Road Division Office, along with the Nepali Army, is actively working to clear the obstructions. Chief District Officer Kamal Prasad Pandey stated that efforts are underway to reopen the road by this evening.
Vehicular movement remains challenging at Bhulbhule, Siptichaur, and Satmod. Seventeen Mugu-bound vehicles, along with their passengers, have been stranded for the past three days due to the snow, confirmed Karki over the phone.
