NC General Secretary Thapa Proposes Formation of 22 New Departments in Party

Nepali Congress (NC) party, General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has put forth a proposal to establish 22 additional departments. Thapa presented this proposal during the central working committee meeting held in Lalitpur on Tuesday.

The proposal comes at a crucial time for the NC, as it faces challenges in nominating members for most of its existing 48 departments. Currently, only the Information, Communication, and Publicity Department of the party have been fully formed.

Alongside the proposal for new departments, Thapa also introduced the party’s annual calendar during the meeting. This calendar sets the target for all party departments to be fully formed by the end of August. Thapa suggested that the provincial, district, and local committees of the party create similar calendars and implement them accordingly.

Thapa emphasized the potential impact of implementing the calendar, stating, “If the calendar is implemented, central working committee members will have only one month of free time in a year.”

The departments proposed by Thapa encompass a wide range of areas, aiming to address various aspects of governance and societal issues.

These departments include the Justice and Human Rights Department, Latest Technology and Innovation Coordination Department, Socio-Cultural Department, Development and Infrastructure Department, Good Governance Department, Cooperative Department, Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department, Disaster Management Department, Energy and Water Resources Department, Youth Department, Former Police Personnel Department, Civil Relations and Grievances Hearing Coordination Department, Vocational Skill Development Department, Senior Citizen Coordination Department, Underprivileged People Upliftment Coordination Department, Informal Sector Workers Coordination Department, Social Organization Coordination Department, Free Community Rehabilitation Coordination Department, Climate Change and Environmental Balance Concerns Department, Religion and Culture Coordination Department, Former Immigrants Coordination Department, and Nepali Diaspora Expert Coordination Department.
