NC Leader Deuba Denies Involvement in Bhutanese Refugee Scam

In a recent parliamentary session, Nepali Congress (NC) leader and Member of Parliament, Arzu Rana Deuba, expressed her objections to questions that were raised about her purported involvement in the fraudulent Bhutanese refugee scam. Deuba unequivocally stated that she had not committed any wrongdoing and assured the House of Representatives of her innocence.

During her statement, Deuba called for greater transparency in the public disclosure of property details of all Members of Parliament, including herself. She also demanded that those who are criticizing her do so based on factual information rather than rumors.

Deuba highlighted the importance of investigating the assets of political leaders and lawmakers to address corruption in the country. She stated, “Let’s look into the assets of the political leaders,” and emphasized the need for greater commitment towards addressing corruption.

Deuba urged leaders to refrain from making unfounded statements without verifying the accuracy of the information. She reiterated that her property details, including those of her husband who has served as the prime minister five times, are securely maintained by the government.
