NC opened its account of victory, Yogesh elected in Mustang
Nepali Congress (NC) has opened its account of victory from Mustang. NC candidate Yogesh Gauchan Thakali, 29, has been elected as a member to the House of Representatives from Mustang.
The 29-year-old Thakali defeated the outgoing MP and CPN (UML) central member Prem Prasad Tulachan with a margin of 914 votes.
Chief Election Officer Ishwor Parajuli informed that Thakali secured 3,992 votes while UML’s Tulachan polled 3,078 votes. Similarly, Sudesh Gurung of the Rashtriya Swotantra Party got 87 and Prabin Kumar Sherchan of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) garnered 13 votes.
Thakali is a member of the Gandaki Province Committee of the Nepali Congress.
Thakali is perhaps the youngest HoR member elected so far. Thakali is a resident of Lete Kalopani, Thasang rural municipality of the district.
Out of 10 thousand 957 voters in Mustang, 7,230 or 65.98 percent of the voters had cast their votes in the election to the Member of House of Representatives and Province Assembly held on Sunday.
