NC’s Rana won HoR seat from Lalitpur-1

Udaya Shumsher Rana of Nepali Congress (NC) won the election to the Member of House of Representatives (HoR) from constituency no. 1 of Lalitpur district by securing 23,892 votes.
Rana defeated CPN (UML)’s Nawa Raj Silwal with the margin of 4,614 votes. Silwal got 19,278 votes. In the last HoR election, Silwal had defeated Rana from the same constituency in Lalitpur.
Likewise, Dr Sachin Ghimire of Rastriya Swatantra Party obtained 3,277 votes while Rastirya Prajatantra Party’s Sandip Acharya obtained 1,641 votes.Out of 74,397 votes, altogether 50,773 votes were cast in the constituency and 1,802 votes were declared invalid.
