NC’s Surendra Raj Pandey appointed as CM of Gandaki Province

Surendra Raj Pandey, the leader of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party, has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province.
According to Article 168 (2) of the constitution, Provincial Chief Prithviman Gurung has appointed Surendra Raj Pandey as the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province.
A majority coalition composed of 27 Congress members, 7 Maoists, and Rajiv Gurung, who won an independent unanimous election from Manang and joined the Unified Socialist Party, had proposed the appointment of Surendra Raj Pandey as the Chief Minister.
Pandey was elected as the member of Gandaki Province Assembly from Gorkha-2 (2).
Pandey’s oath-taking ceremony has been scheduled for Friday.
