NDA Stands Firm: Modi Unanimously Chosen Leader in Post-Election Meet

In a decisive move following the recent Lok Sabha election results, leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) convened on Wednesday to chart the course ahead. Prime Minister Narendra Modi emerged as the clear choice, unanimously elected as the leader of the alliance, signaling a pivotal moment in Indian politics.

With the BJP falling short of a majority in the Lower House, the necessity of coalition politics has come to the fore, compelling Prime Minister Modi to engage in dialogue with key allies. This marks a significant departure from the party’s previous electoral triumphs, as it faces the task of forging alliances to secure a government.

The NDA conclave witnessed the presence of stalwart leaders including BJP president JP Nadda, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, alongside prominent figures from allied parties such as Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu, and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, among others.

Of particular note was the participation of Naidu and Nitish Kumar, underscoring the critical role their parties play in the BJP’s path to government formation. With the BJP securing 240 seats, falling short by 32 seats of the majority mark, the support of these key allies becomes paramount.

The NDA resolution hailed Narendra Modi’s leadership, citing the transformative progress witnessed by 1.4 billion Indians under the NDA government’s tenure. It celebrated the electorate’s endorsement of strong leadership for the third consecutive term, attributing the victory to Modi’s leadership.

The resolution reaffirmed the NDA’s commitment to serving all sections of society, especially the marginalized and underprivileged, under Modi’s guidance. It pledged to uphold India’s rich heritage while striving for the holistic development and welfare of every citizen.
