Nepal and the U.S. Sign Historic Bilateral Consultation Mechanism Agreement
Nepal and the United States have solidified their diplomatic ties with the signing of a Bilateral Consultation Mechanism (BCM) memorandum of understanding (MOU), marking a historic milestone in their bilateral relations. The agreement is aimed at enhancing collaboration in key areas such as trade, investment, tourism, and infrastructure development.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Nepal’s Foreign Minister, and Mr. John Bass, Under Secretary for Political Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. This landmark agreement establishes a formal framework for regular dialogue and cooperation between the two countries.
The BCM is expected to open new avenues for economic partnerships and infrastructure initiatives, while also strengthening efforts to boost tourism between Nepal and the United States.
