Nepal Defeats India in Historic Win at CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League
In a historic victory, Nepal defeated India in the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League, marking the first time the Nepali women’s team has triumphed over their Indian counterparts. The intense match, held at the National Sports Council Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, concluded with a score of 3-2 in favor of Nepal.
Nepal clinched the first set with a score of 25-18, the third set with 25-17, and the decisive fifth set with 15-13 points. India secured victories in the second and fourth sets.
The inaugural CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League features teams from India, Iran, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and host nation Nepal. The tournament is being hosted by Nepal in collaboration with the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA).
The top four teams from the tournament will advance to the semi-finals. Upcoming matches include Sri Lanka facing the Maldives at 3:00 pm on Sunday, followed by Nepal playing against Iran at 5:15 pm, both at the National Sports Council Covered Hall in Tripureshwor.
