Nepal Dispatching Relief Aid to Earthquake-Hit Myanmar

The Government of Nepal is dispatching humanitarian aid to Myanmar in the wake of the powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck the country on March 28.
Relief supplies weighing 41 tons and valued at Rs 24.7 million will be flown to Myanmar on Wednesday via a chartered flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation. The consignment includes food items, medical supplies, clothing, tarpaulins, tents, and other essential goods. The aid has been jointly contributed by government agencies and the private sector.
Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak visited the humanitarian aid warehouse at Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday evening to inspect the preparations. On the occasion, he urged collective support in extending timely assistance to nations affected by disasters.
Myanmar had extended aid to Nepal following the 2015 earthquake, and this gesture underscores Nepal’s continued commitment to regional solidarity and humanitarian cooperation.
