Nepal Football Team Announced for Crucial World Cup Qualifier
The Chief Coach of the Nepali national football team, Vincenzo Alberto Annese, has unveiled a formidable 28-member squad set to clash with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
With anticipation running high, the squad composition showcases a blend of seasoned veterans and promising talents poised to represent Nepal on the international stage. The team announcement marks the initial phase of preparation for what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.
Among the notable inclusions, Kiran Chemjong, Abisek Baral, Bishal Sunar, and Santosh Mahat have been entrusted with the goalkeeping duties, while defensive responsibilities fall upon the shoulders of Abisek Limbu, Ananta Tamang, Bimal Pandey, and others.
In midfield, the team boasts a dynamic lineup featuring the likes of Bharat Khawas, Laken Limbu, and Mani Kumar Lama, each bringing their unique skill set to the fore. Meanwhile, the forward line, spearheaded by Anjan Bista and Dinesh Henjan, is geared up to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
However, a twist in the tale emerged as the Asia Football Federation (AFC) directed the fixture to be held at a ‘neutral venue’, citing concerns over the standard of the Dasharath Stadium, the originally slated venue. Despite this change, the team remains undeterred and focused on delivering a spirited performance.
The match, originally scheduled for June 6, holds immense significance for Nepal’s football aspirations, serving as a crucial juncture in their quest for World Cup qualification.
