Nepal in Regular Contact with Students in Pakistan, Urges Vigilance Amid Regional Tensions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Nepal has confirmed that it is maintaining regular contact with Nepali students currently studying in Pakistan, amid growing regional security concerns.

In a statement issued Friday, the Ministry reassured that the Government of Nepal is fully aware of the recent developments and is actively working to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens residing in Pakistan. The Nepali Embassy in Islamabad remains in close communication with students and other Nepali nationals in the country.

The Ministry has urged Nepali students and their families to reach out to the Embassy in Islamabad for any immediate support or assistance.

Meanwhile, in response to heightened security concerns following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir—which claimed the life of a Nepali national—the Nepali Embassy in India has advised all Nepalis to remain alert. Citizens are encouraged to identify nearby safe zones and emergency services and to adhere strictly to security protocols issued by local Indian authorities.

Nepali nationals living in or traveling to India are also advised to contact the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi or the Consulate General in Kolkata should they require any form of assistance.
