“Nepal made it really difficult; their future is bright,” says Aiden Markram
South African cricket captain Aiden Markram has praised Nepal’s performance after narrowly defeating them by one run. Speaking at a press conference, Markram acknowledged Nepal’s strong performance, stating that they had put South Africa under pressure both with their bowling and batting skills.
“The Nepali team played exceptionally well today. They kept us on our toes throughout the match and demonstrated their capabilities. Nepal made it really challenging for us,” said Markram.
He also expressed that South Africa had learned valuable lessons from Nepal’s performance, noting their increased confidence and potential for future success. Reflecting on the tense final overs where Nepal needed 16 runs to win, Markram highlighted the thrilling and nerve-wracking moments of the game. “I had confidence in my bowlers, and that confidence helped us secure the victory. Wins like this are significant achievements,” he added.
Markram further appreciated the positive reception and hospitality shown by Nepalese supporters and noted the friendly and disciplined nature of Nepalese players. “I may not know much about Nepalese cricket, but their future looks very promising,” he concluded.
