Nepal Oil Corporation Increases Fuel Prices; Petrol Up by Rs 1 per Litre
The Nepal Oil Corporation has announced a revision in petroleum prices, effective from midnight today. The price of petrol has been raised by Rs 1 per litre, while diesel has seen an increase of Rs 2 per litre.
In a contrasting move, the price of domestic aviation fuel has been reduced by Rs 2 per litre, and international aviation fuel has been lowered by USD 15 per kilolitre. However, prices for international aviation fuel at Pokhara and Bhairahawa airports remain unchanged.
Following the adjustment, petrol now costs Rs 160 per litre in first-category areas, Rs 162 in second-category regions, and Rs 163 in third-category locations. Diesel is priced at Rs 150, Rs 152, and Rs 153 per litre in the respective categories. The first category includes areas such as Charaali, Biratnagar, and Janakpur, while the second category covers Surkhet and Dang. Third-category areas include Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal.
The price adjustments are based on the latest tariffs provided by the Indian Oil Corporation, the main supplier of fuel to Nepal.
