Nepal Pledges $100,000 Financial Aid to Asian Institute of Technology

The Nepalese government has decided to provide financial assistance of $100,000 to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand, citing its financial difficulties and Nepal’s role as a founding member.

The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting on Monday evening, government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung confirmed.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is set to depart for Thailand today to attend the 6th BIMSTEC Summit, is also scheduled to deliver an address at AIT as part of his official visit. Oli’s visit comes at the invitation of his Thai counterpart, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
