Nepal Police Club Secures PM Cup Men’s Cricket Tournament Title

Nepal Police Club emerged victorious in the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament, defeating Tribhuvan Army Club by six wickets in the final held at Siddhartha Cricket Stadium, Bhairahawa.

Chasing a 155-run target, Nepal Police Club sealed the win in 25.2 overs, losing four wickets. Kushal Bhurtel led the charge with a 61-run knock off 70 balls, while Amit Shrestha contributed 39 runs, and Dilip Nath remained unbeaten on 31. Sahab Alam took three wickets, and Naren Saud claimed one for Tribhuvan Army Club.

Earlier, opting to bat first, Tribhuvan Army Club was bowled out for 154 runs in 43 overs. Basir Ahmed top-scored with 86 runs off 104 balls, followed by Captain Binod Bhandari with 29 runs and Bibek Yadav with 11 runs. Other batsmen failed to reach double-digit scores.

In the bowling department, Karan KC and Sagar Dhakal of Nepal Police Club took three wickets each, while Captain Dipendra Singh Airee secured two wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi and Gulshan Jha claimed one wicket each.

The PM Cup Tournament featured 10 teams, including the departmental squads of the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force.
