Nepal Reaffirms Stand Against Terrorism, Calls for De-escalation Between India and Pakistan

The Government of Nepal has reiterated its unwavering stance against terrorism and expressed deep concern over rising tensions between India and Pakistan in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Nepal “stands together with all in the fight against terrorism” and will not permit any hostile elements to use its territory against neighboring countries. The ministry emphasized Nepal’s principled position of not allowing its soil to be misused for activities inimical to regional peace.

Nepal had “immediately and unequivocally condemned” the April 22 terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which also claimed the life of a Nepali national.

Highlighting the urgent need for restraint, the ministry conveyed Nepal’s hope for de-escalation and reaffirmed its commitment to lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
