Nepal Secures Semi-Final Spot in U-20 SAFF Men’s Football Championship

Nepal has advanced to the semi-finals of the U-20 SAFF Men’s Football Championship, which is currently taking place in the capital. Nepal secured its place in the semi-finals with one match still to play, following Bangladesh’s 2-0 victory over Sri Lanka today.

The match, held at the All-Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur, saw Bangladesh defeat Sri Lanka, effectively eliminating Sri Lanka from the tournament.

In Nepal’s opening match, they defeated Sri Lanka 1-0, earning three crucial points in Group ‘A’. With today’s results, Nepal’s place in the semi-finals is guaranteed.

Bangladesh’s goals were scored by Mirazul Islam and Piyesh Ahmed Nova, each netting one goal.

Nepal will face Bangladesh in the final match of the group stage on August 22. Meanwhile, the Maldives will compete against Bhutan in tomorrow’s match at the same venue.
