Nepal Student Union condemns the action of Myanmar Military Junta

Nepal Student Union (NSU) condemned the recent incident and action of the Myanmar Military Junta, which gave the death penalty to seven students of Dagon University on November 30.

The President of the Nepal Student Union, Dujang Sherpa, issued a statement stating that imposing the death penalty on students is an act of vengeance by the military.

NSU also expressed its solidarity and hailed the sacrifice of the students who fought for the democracy and the better future of Myanmar.

“We feel inspired by those brave souls and obliged to continue the struggle for democracy and human rights”, NSU statement said.

Similarly, the statement says, “It is eminent that thousands of people have been brutally shot, executed, and disappeared after the complete took over of the state by Junta in February 2021. We know that it was a blatant betrayal of the hope and aspiration of the people and their decades-long struggle for democracy”.

“Despite the voice of international communities against such inhumane suppression of peaceful protests and shameless denial of the right to live, the junta has remained extremely stubborn about its abuse of force and paranoid about the voice for democracy, reads NSU Statement”.

Furthermore, NSU said that it wants to be a part of the unified voice and action against brutality as we call for stringent measures from the international community to save people’s lives and create a conducive environment for the talk between the concerned.
