Nepal Thanks Qatar for Granting Amnesty to 18 Nepali Inmates During Ramadan

The Government of Nepal has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the State of Qatar for granting Amiri Amnesty to 18 Nepali prisoners on the auspicious occasion of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a press release issued today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal acknowledged Qatar’s humanitarian gesture as a reflection of the strong bilateral ties between the two nations. The amnesty was approved following a formal request made by the Nepali government through its embassy in Doha.
“The Ministry highly values this act of pardon, which exemplifies the spirit of goodwill and compassion in our diplomatic relations,” the statement read.
The decision comes as part of Qatar’s tradition of granting clemency during Ramadan, allowing prisoners to reunite with their families. The Nepali government praised the move as a significant humanitarian step that reinforces the friendly relations between Nepal and Qatar.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening Nepal-Qatar cooperation across various sectors, including labor welfare and diplomatic engagement.
