Nepal is set to participate in the Raisina Dialogue 2025, India’s premier conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics, scheduled to take place from March 17 to 19 in New Delhi. Organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the event will bring together global leaders from politics, business, media, and civil society to discuss pressing international challenges and explore avenues for cooperation.

Foreign ministers from 21 countries, including Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, Thailand, Sweden, Ukraine, and Ghana, will attend the conference. Nepal’s delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, who will actively participate in discussions focusing on climate change, global economic shifts, and regional cooperation.

She is scheduled to address a session on climate change, highlighting Nepal’s vulnerabilities and advocating for enhanced international climate financing. She will also participate in the panel discussion titled “What the South Wants,” representing Nepal’s stance on global south priorities, including economic resilience and sustainable development. Additionally, she is expected to speak at the Digital Public Infrastructure Conclave, emphasizing Nepal’s progress in digital governance and innovation.

During the conference, Minister Dr. Rana will hold bilateral meetings with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and counterparts from other friendly nations. These discussions will focus on regional security, economic collaboration, and climate change mitigation efforts.

The Raisina Dialogue serves as a significant platform for Nepal to strengthen its diplomatic ties, share policy insights, and enhance its engagement in global discussions on key strategic issues. Participation in such high-level forums underscores Nepal’s commitment to active involvement in international affairs, reinforcing its geopolitical and geoeconomic positioning.
