Nepal Triumphs Over Iran to Secure Final Spot in CAVA Women’s Nations Volleyball League
In a fiercely competitive match, Nepal defeated Iran to advance to the final of the CAVA Women’s Nations Volleyball League. The game, held on Tuesday at the National Sports Council complex in Tripureshwar, saw Nepal win in straight sets with scores of 25-21, 28-26, and 25-20.
Following this victory, Nepal will face India in the League final. Earlier, Nepal and Iran had secured spots in the semi-finals by finishing second and third in the points table, respectively.
Expressing his delight after the historic win, Nepal’s chief coach, Jagdish Bhatta, highlighted the team’s success as a result of learning from past mistakes. This triumph came after Nepal’s earlier defeat to Iran in the league stage, where Iran won 3-2.
The final match, scheduled for Wednesday, will see Nepal facing India with high morale, bolstered by their previous win against India in the league stage.
In the first semi-final played on Tuesday, India triumphed over Sri Lanka in straight sets, winning 3-0, setting up the much-anticipated final clash with Nepal.
