The Nepali Army has announced that its Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashok Raj Sigdel, will visit India from December 11 to 14, 2024.
The visit highlights the longstanding tradition of strong military cooperation between Nepal and India. During his stay, General Sigdel will be conferred the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army by the President of India, a symbolic gesture reflecting the historical camaraderie between the two nations’ armed forces.
As part of his official engagements, General Sigdel is set to hold high-level meetings with Indian defense and military authorities, strengthening bilateral ties. He will also serve as the Reviewing Officer at the passing out parade of Officer Cadets at the prestigious Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.
The Nepali Army described this visit as a continuation of efforts to enhance military diplomacy and foster greater cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
