The Government of Nepal has recommended the promotion of Nepali Army Colonel Prashant Bikram Rana to the rank of Brigadier General.
Alongside this, the Cabinet approved the promotion of seven Lieutenant Colonels to the rank of Colonel. The officers recommended for promotion are Bijay Basnet, Pradeep Thapa, Kanchan Krishna Basnet, Jeevan Sharma, Prajwal Thapa, Bikash KC, and Chandrashekhar Kapri.
These promotions come as part of a routine adjustment to fill vacant positions resulting from the recent elevation of Colonels to Brigadier General. The newly promoted Colonels will assume their responsibilities in their respective posts within the Nepali Army, contributing to the leadership and operational capabilities of the armed forces.
The promotions reflect the government’s commitment to recognizing the dedication and service of Nepali Army personnel in maintaining national security and sovereignty.
