Nepali Army Opens 1,411 km of Roads and Installs 38 Bailey Bridges
The Nepali Army (NA) has successfully opened 1,411 kilometers of road tracks in various parts of the country and installed 38 bailey bridges. These infrastructures have been handed over to the Department of Roads, according to Colonel and Assistant Director of Military Development Construction Directorate, Dharmendra Kumar Jha.
Currently, the Nepali Army is engaged in three national pride projects and two national priority (P1) projects, focusing on the development of strategically important roadways.
The NA is constructing four key roads connecting the south and north corridors of Nepal:
- Darchula-Tinker Road: 79 kilometers
- Benighat-Arughat-Larkebhanjyang Road: 92 kilometers
- Karnali Corridor Sections:
- Lalibagar-Dulkikunna Section
- Ghatiparichaur-Badrigaun-Bhukkakhola Section: 22 kilometers
- Khandbari-Kimathanka Road: 10.51 kilometers
Additionally, the Nepali Army is developing the much-anticipated Kathmandu-Tarai-Madhes Expressway, which spans 71 kilometers.
These construction efforts by the NA aim to enhance connectivity and bolster infrastructure across Nepal, facilitating economic growth and regional integration.
