Nepali Congress Gears Up for Mahasamiti Meeting with Specialized Sub-committees
In anticipation of the much-awaited Mahasamiti meeting scheduled to convene at Godavari in Lalitpur from February 19 to 22, the Nepali Congress (NC) has embarked on meticulous preparations by forming nine specialized sub-committees.
The NC, positioning this gathering as a significant ‘policy session,’ aims to ensure the seamless and effective conduct of the general committee meeting, as articulated by the party’s leadership.
Under the guidance of party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, the main organizing committee has taken the initiative to establish dedicated sub-committees, each entrusted with specific responsibilities crucial for the successful orchestration of the four-day event in Godavari.
Various leaders have been assigned pivotal roles within these sub-committees, emphasizing the importance of precision and efficiency in the proceedings. Notable appointments include Min Bahadur Bishwakarma as the Coordinator of the Publicity Sub-committee, Madan Bahadur Amatya overseeing lodging arrangements, and Udaya Shumsher Rana managing food logistics.
Furthermore, Jitjung Basnet has been tasked with leading the volunteer mobilization sub-committee, while Urmila Nepal KC will coordinate health-related aspects. Transport management falls under the purview of Dhana Khatiwada, with Anil Kumar Rungta overseeing the finance sub-committee. Indra Bahadur Baniya and Jitendra Shrestha will respectively manage provincial coordination and local management.
According to Bishwakarma, the sub-committees have already commenced their assigned tasks, indicating proactive efforts from the NC’s side to ensure a well-organized gathering.
In addition to operational arrangements, a proposal preparation committee has been formed under the coordination of party Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka to craft policy proposals for deliberation during the Mahasamiti meeting.
The event is expected to witness the participation of over two thousand delegates from diverse backgrounds, including both domestic and international representatives, underscoring the significance of the NC’s Mahasamiti meeting on the political landscape.
