Nepali Congress (NC) Mahasamiti Convenes with 2,105 Participants in Attendance
The much-anticipated Nepali Congress (NC) Mahasamiti meeting is set to commence at the Sunrise Conference Centre, Godawari in Lalitpur, with a robust attendance of 2,105 participants poised to shape the party’s trajectory in the days ahead.
During a press briefing held in Lalitpur on Sunday, Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, the Chief of the Central Information, Communication, and Publicity Department of the party, announced that all preparations for the grand assembly had been meticulously finalized.
Among the attendees, 165 individuals represent the apex of the party’s hierarchy, comprising central committee office-bearers and central members. The gathering also includes 1,780 Mahasamiti members, drawn from constituencies of the House of Representatives, along with 89 representatives from the Nepali Public Relations Committee and 69 delegates from sister organizations, as per Bishwakarma’s disclosure.
Moreover, while the focus remains on internal deliberations, the inclusivity of the event extends to the participation of presidents from provincial and district working committees, alongside central presidents of sister organizations, who have been invited to contribute their insights to the proceedings.
The inauguration of the meeting is slated to be conducted by Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, underscoring the significance of this assembly in the party’s democratic decision-making process. The agenda encompasses a comprehensive review and deliberation on various reports endorsed by the NC’s recently convened Central Working Committee meeting.
