Nepali Congress to Initially Hand Government Leadership to UML

The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to give the initial leadership of the newly formed government to the CPN (UML).

A Central Executive Committee meeting held at President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Wednesday morning approved the power-sharing agreement, deciding that UML President KP Sharma Oli will lead the government first.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba will assume leadership in the second phase until the election is over.

NC spokesperson Dr. Prakasharan Mahat stated that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been requested to step aside.
