Nepali Diplomats and Officers Participate in Special Training Programme in India
A group of 26 Nepali diplomats and government officers from ten key ministries and departments has embarked on a visit to India to attend the inaugural Special Training Programme for Nepali Diplomats and Officers at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS) under India’s Ministry of External Affairs. The training is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 30, 2024, in New Delhi.
The delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and the Department of Railways.
The program features modules on topics of global political and economic importance, including trade and connectivity, climate change, humanitarian assistance, shared culture and heritage, and development partnerships. Participants will also visit cities and historical landmarks outside New Delhi, enriching their understanding of India’s cultural and economic landscape.
Ahead of their departure, Shri Prasanna Shrivastava, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, interacted with the group on November 19, 2024, extending his best wishes for a productive and rewarding training experience.
This initiative is part of ongoing institutional exchanges between Nepal and India, reflecting the enduring and unique bilateral relationship between the two nations. The program aims to enhance the skills and perspectives of Nepali officials while fostering stronger ties and collaboration across critical sectors.
