Nepali national dies in Cambodia fire, Video message to his son going viral
A Nepali national has died after jumping off the 12th floor of Grand Diamond City Casino and Hotel located near the Cambodia-Thailand border.
Nirakar Pandey, 40, jumped off the building to save himself after the building caught fire.
Pandey was among the 27 people who lost their lives in the fire that broke out in the early hours of Thursday.
According to Thailand-based Nepal Embassy, Preparations are underway to send Pandey’s body back to Nepal.
Nirakar Pandey of Birtamod-1, Jhapa made a video call to his family via Viber to inform them of the situation. He had a one-and-a-half-hour video chat on Viber with various members of his family in Jhapa, after he lost the hope of survival.
In the heart-wrenching video which is going viral now, he is seen telling his son, “ I love you a lot son, No matter where I am, I will always love you, be a good person.”
Pandey also advises his son to be honest, respectful and requests him to love all those around him.
He says, “Be nice to your mother, brother, uncle, aunt,. Don’t cheat others, Take care of your mother. Love your mother, The most important thing is being a humble person. Help others. Don’t hurt others. Be successful in future”.
